Zinf is based on the FreeAmp audio player that was developed by emusic.com, but later discontinued.
It sports the same simple styling and interface, although there are now numerous themes available to alter its appearance.
It can play audio in the MP3, OGG and WAV formats, along with supporting the playback of CD audio. CD metadata can be retrieved from the MusicBrainz website, and full tagging support is integrated (Id3v1, Id3v2, Vorbis).
A ten-channel graphic equaliser can be invoked at the click of a button, and the ability to load the player in three different sizes ensures it fits on even the busiest screen.
It can cope with streaming audio in the SHOUTcast and Icecast formats, which can be saved locally.
Included as part of its emusic.com heritage is a download manager that allows for batch downloading of albums from the emusic.com website (should you be a subscriber, that is).
