High-street retailer Marks &
Spencer (M&S) has signed an agreement to replace its tills with a next
generation electronic point-of-sale (epos) system.
M&S is to install
PCMS’s
BeanStore system across all its shops and integrate it into existing head
office programmes.
Developmentof the new system is already under way with testing scheduled to
be finished by the end of the year.
Roll out and delivery across all its shops will be completed in 2010, says M
&S IT director Darrell Stein.
‘The working relationship between the two organisations is one that has
developed into a strong partnership and we are confident that we will deliver a
market-leading solution,’ he said.
‘PCMS was chosen because of the rich functionality of its system.’
The system will further improve the customer experience at the till, says M
&S head of retail operations Steve Finlan.
