MySpace, Bebo and even Second Life (where people pretend to be cartoon
characters) have all demonstrated the net’s current preoccupation with ‘social
networking’.
However, these all take time to get into because of the endless screens of
settings and preferences people have to wade through in order to can join in.
Imagini does away with all that and instead, presents a series of questions
about life, character, habits, inclinations and appetites that visitors answer
by clicking on the picture that most closely matches their answer.
The result? Their ‘VisualDNA’ – an on-screen scrapbook that contains an
electronic character assessment built up from those answers. Still in beta
(which means there’s the occasional glitch and a few small holes that need
plugging) Imagini also offers a shopping service.
In the Workshops section of Computeractive issue 242 we give a guided tour on
Imagini. So, refer to the magazine and then
click
to transfer to the Imagini website.
